Three short steps to fully remove The AI Finance Stack from your QuickBooks Online and your local machine. No data persists on remote servers — everything to clean up lives on Intuit's side and your own machine.
This stops Intuit from accepting any further API calls from The AI Finance Stack, even if a credential file is left behind somewhere.
This removes the refresh token from your machine.
rm ~/.config/finance-stack/credentials/qbo.json
On Windows, the path is typically %APPDATA%\finance-stack\credentials\qbo.json.
If you no longer want the QBO MCP server to start with Claude Desktop, edit your config and remove the "quickbooks" entry under mcpServers.
On macOS, the config file lives at:
~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
Remove the "quickbooks" block and any commas that were holding it in the list. Save the file. Fully quit Claude Desktop (Cmd-Q) and reopen.
The AI Finance Stack runs entirely on your machine. We do not operate any user-data storage — see the Privacy Policy for the full statement. Once you've revoked the OAuth grant and deleted the local credentials file, there is nothing further to clean up. No accounts to delete, no servers to email.
If you want to reconnect The AI Finance Stack to your QuickBooks Online account at a later date, follow the Connect instructions. The setup flow takes about 10 minutes and uses standard Intuit OAuth — no special steps needed for users who previously disconnected.
